This time another grassroots leader is the victim of political conflict. The incident took place late Monday night at Ketugram in Purba Bardhaman, East Burdwan. Allegedly, the old man was killed in the attack of BJP-backed miscreants. Police have already started investigation into the incident. The deceased Srinivas Ghosh (54) was a resident of Malgram in Ketugram, East Burdwan. He was the 9th member of Agardanga Gram Panchayat of Ketugram. It is learned that clashes broke out between BJP and Trinamool in Malgram around 9 pm on Monday. In the words of Mithun Mian, Deputy Chief of Trinamool Congress of Agardanga Panchayat, “Our Panchayat member Srinivas Ghosh was going to a neighborhood for rice harvesting workers at night. At that time, BJP-affiliated miscreants attacked him with sticks and sticks. Srinivas was angered. Two other grassroots activists were injured while trying to save him. ” When they were rushed to the hospital, the doctors declared the panchayat member dead. Tensions spread in the area after the incident. BAF and huge police force have been deployed to control the situation.
