The Ashok Gehlot government has decided to impose a strict lockdown in the desert from today till May 3. Yesterday, for the first time in the state, 10 thousand people were attacked daily. Of these, more than 2,000 people have been infected with COVID-19 in the capital Jaipur alone. At the moment Rajasthan has 6 thousand active. Therefore, the Congress government of the state has to walk the path of strict lockdown. The Rajasthan government said yesterday that a ‘public discipline party’ would be observed across the state for the next two weeks. During these 15 days, only emergency services will be available. Shops and markets will be closed. You can’t go out of the house unnecessarily. Vegetables, fruits, milk and other household items can be sold till 6 pm. Cooking gas (LPG) shops and petrol pumps will be open till 8 pm. However, industrial centers will be kept partially open to prevent the return of migrant workers. Journalists have also been kept out of the lockdown. Public transport will also run in a controlled manner.

Rajasthan is not alone, several other states are already on the path of curfew or night curfew to stop corona. Weekly lockdown has already been launched in Uttar Pradesh. The Maharashtra government has long imposed a corona curfew. Weekly curfew has also been imposed in Delhi. The state also issued guidelines yesterday and imposed a number of restrictions.
