On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court directed the government to provide oxygen, whether by begging or stealing. The horror of the picture is made clear by the situation at Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Delhi. There are more than two hundred Kovid patients admitted there. But oxygen is insufficient. There was a lot of wailing as usual. The condition of many small hospitals in the capital is also bad. There is no supply of oxygen. Corona infection is increasing by leaps and bounds all over the country. In this situation, the lack of oxygen in various states, including the capital Delhi, is growing uneasy. The worst situation is in Delhi. Allegedly, the oxygen allotted for Delhi has been sent to other states. The situation has worsened since Wednesday evening. Mata Chanan Devi Hospital ran out of oxygen on Thursday morning. Authorities have been working hard to provide oxygen since nightfall. The situation is still serious even though two doses of oxygen have arrived till the last news.

Other hospitals have similar complaints. Even small 50-bed hospitals have run out of oxygen. The Center has arranged for the filling of oxygen cylinders at a place called Bawana, but it is far from East Delhi. As a result, getting there has become a challenge. Yesterday, the Delhi High Court reminded the government that the center has a responsibility to save the lives of critically ill citizens. Whether by special corridors or by air, oxygen must be delivered to those in need.
